A Quasar

Quasars put out tremendous amounts of energy from a very small source. They are known as the single most intense concentrations of energy in the entire universe. They shine with the light of a hundred galaxies, but they are not larger than our solar system. This is an image, taken by the Hubble Space Telescope, of a quasar several billion light years away. In this image, the quasar in merging with a galaxy.
